S&M Vacation: Las Vegas – Part 2

Much as we did touristy attractions, our last day in Las Vegas had to be the most fun. From unexpected trips to highly satisfying entertainment, perhaps we needed one more day in Vegas. Check out the last entry from our vacation. #snmvacation

End of the journey

18, March2019

Yesterday was a lot to handle, I believe we woke up closer to 11AM this day. Most days, we either skipped breakfast or couldn’t decide what to eat. With a Las Vegas style buffet cancelled (neither of us were in the mood), we revisited the Las Vegas sign once more – Melvyn wanted a proper photo without the green cover. Fortunately, the sign was back to its original state – unfortunately, there were more people at the sign this morning. Going off the side, we managed to get our photos and returned the car back to the rental (where we managed to collect free water bottles!)

Melvyn said he wanted to have Luke’s Lobster, a chain restaurant that serves some delicious lobster sandwiches. I never knew how well bread so soft and buttery could pair up with lobster! Melvyn got a combo, which included a lobster, shrimp, and crab sandwich, and all looked scrumptious. Everything was good, though the portions were small – maybe it’s because ordering for lobster on the west coast is usually expensive. So we went into the mall and managed to get ourselves some pretzels and ice cream; you can’t go wrong with food stands at the mall.

Looking for the next destination

Along the walk back to the hotel, we saw advertisements for dolphins, located at the Mirage. Melvyn is a big fan of dolphins, and since we didn’t have much planned for the afternoon, we took a stroll inside. I haven’t been inside the Mirage for a while, but it’s quite a large casino. The habitat is also an impressive size, containing tigers and lions – I mean, it wouldn’t be Siegfried & Roy without them. Dolphin interactions were part of the experience, where you can make them do tricks or paint masterpieces (what can’t a dolphin do?!) From getting wet to feeling the heat, this exhibit was a highly entertaining surprise.

I love dolphin

We got back to the hotel pretty late, about 5PM. With not much time, we had to get ready for our plans in the evening. I’ve always wanted to visit The Neon Museum and check out all of the lights of Las Vegas’ past. Arriving ten minutes late, we joined our group and was welcomed by a live news broadcast (did you see me on TV?) Lost in the information, we got sidetracked from taking photos by our favourite signs – so much history to know about Sin City. Make sure to take your photos along the way, it’s your only opportunity!

This is Vegas

We also got the Brilliant! Experience, which is a half-hour showcase of Las Vegas through the lights, as well as the people who have made this place so iconic. What we thought was going to be boring turned out to be a 360-degree wonderment that you can’t look away. A fun way to begin the night, we followed this experience for something more, sensual. To New York New York, we had a meal made for four before indulging into “Zumanity,” the adult-themed show of Cirque du Soliel. I am a big fan of theatrical shows, and this one was highly entertaining. The ripped bodies to the complexity of each act, it’s amazing to see such artistry from something rather taboo. If you are looking to liven up the night, may I recommend getting in touch with your naughty side?

Light up the night

After the show, I wanted to check out M&M’s World to see what unique blends are out there – and I didn’t expect some of the flavours. I tried a Thai Coconut Peanut, which wasn’t bad, but not my taste. So I saw two blends that I had to get (which were not so radical flavours): Unicorn Mix (milk chocolate), and the White Chocolate Mix (which were Easter colours). Since it was the last night in Las Vegas, we were contemplating whether we should check out the club inside the hotel. While I was not in the mood, Melvyn really wanted to check it out. So we compromised: I took a nap, and we headed out to the club closer to 2AM. The Marquee Nightclub had to be one of my favourite clubs from vacation, simply for its energy and production value. Despite being exhausted from the day, I was wide awake the moment the elevator doors opened to the mixes of Sam Feldt. The energy was good, a bit crowded, but definitely something worth trying out.

The last night of fun

Ending on a high note, I was ready to sleep, while Melvyn went to the casino afterwards. Thinking I would be asleep by the time Melvyn returned, I was still wide awake – perhaps I saw sad to realize our trip was over. Despite the sad moment, I must say, we had one fun vacation. I can’t wait to do it all over again. Where to next…

Last night, best night
